Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Factory Starlight Black TA with the original matching numbers 403 engine. This TA features driver quality factory Black paint with newer decals, a black interior, the original 403 engine, and Factory Fisher T Tops. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Black over Black interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above. This TA is believed to have only had one owner and was purchased new in California and remained there until April of 2022 when it came to Ohio. Miles are stated “Actual” on current Ohio title and oil change sticker.
Exterior
The Black exterior is in driver quality restored condition. This Trans Am was treated to a recent repaint with new decals being applied and new front bumper grills. The paint is in good overall condition with no signs of visible rust on the body and the underside is solid with no patches. The paint is driver quality and shows pretty well and the body is very solid. This TA was not rusty prior to the repaint, there are no heavy bondo areas or known rust repair areas. There may be some imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have good tread left and are sized 255/60/15 and the OEM 15″ snowflake wheels have been restored with black painted recesses. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. Trunk is very solid and clean an original style felt trunk mat.
Interior
The black cloth interior of this Trans Am is in good overall condition. The front seats were upgraded years ago to Recaro seats which recline and are very comfortable. The carpet is in good overall condition with no rips or holes and shows pretty well. The original dash is in good overall condition and the dash bezel is in good condition as well. The stereo was upgraded to a Kenwood CD player with upgraded speakers but is currently not working. The door panels appear to be original and are in good overall condition. The headliner has been replaced and is not sagging anywhere. The package tray is in great condition. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should but the gas gauge works but is not reading correctly, shows over full. The horn is not working and power windows are slow. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in good overall mechanical condition and runs and drives and has good power. The original numbers matching 403 engine runs and has plenty of power. The brakes work well and do not pull from side to side and were just serviced with a new master cylinder and total brake bleed. A new fuel pump was added. A new alternator was just added. The exhaust has a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds and has a high flow cat converter. This Trans Am fires right up and holds idle quickly and runs and drives. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. Also, the engine bay is nicely detailed and clean. This car has sat for some years and may require some effort for consistent running. This is a factory AC car and it appears all the AC equipment is still in tact but currently the system is not blowing cold air. The blower motor does work on all speeds.
