Cincy Classic Cars is proud to share and show this 1979 Factory 4 Speed Trans AM which is in fully restored condition and absolutely gorgeous. This Trans Am has placed in its competition class 6 times at the Trans Am Nationals which is held in Dayton Ohio every August. This is easily the largest Trans Am National show each year in the country. To place once is an honor, to place 6 times is an accomplishment, see trophies in photos. This TA came from the factory with a 301 Pontiac engine and a four speed transmission, 1 of 1530 made that way. The original 301 engine is long gone and built Pontiac 400 engine sits in its place. This TA features a beautiful repaint in White with gold decals and pin stripping, a fully restored interior, a rebuilt Pontiac 400 engine and completely rebuilt drive line (over 10K spent on drive line), and PHS documents/window sticker. This Trans Am has no visible rust anywhere and is very solid with great lines and gaps. This Trans Am is finished in the desirable color combinations of White over Tan vinyl interior. This is a beautiful color scheme and really stands out from the others. These special low production 4 Speed Trans Am’s are some of the most sought after collectible TA’s on the market. They continue to increase in value and desirability.

Exterior

The White exterior is in beautiful fully restored condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint in White with all new decals and pin stripping and was finished in 2010. The hood, fenders, doors, trunk lid, all spoilers and wheel flares were removed during the repaint. No short cuts were taken and the end result is very nice and still looks fresh 10 years later. The paint is in great condition with no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint. New front bumper grills were added and a new nose emblem. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The BF Goodrich tires have great tread left and are sized 255/60/15 and the 8″ snowflake wheels are OEM fully restored originals and are in great condition and come with newer stainless steel center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. The hood release cable is stiff and hard to open. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire, jack, and inflator bottle, with a correct felt trunk mat.

Interior

The Tan vinyl interior of this Trans Am has been restored to stock and is in excellent condition. The seat covers were replaced and are like new with no noticeable wear anywhere. They were professionally installed and fit very tight over the seat foam. The carpet is newer as well with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in good overall condition but does have a full size dash cap. The dash bezel was restored by Randy Combs and looks beautiful in the car. The cost alone for that service is $250.00. The original 8 track stereo was works well and sounds good and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The door panels have been replaced and are in like new condition and both new door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray have also been replaced and both are in great condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The horn, stereo, and wipers work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in excellent mechanical condition and the drive line has been upgraded and rebuilt less than 2500 miles ago at a cost of over $10,000. The engine was rebuilt less than 2500 miles ago and runs strong and pulls hard, see included build specs. The original 301 engine is gone and a Pontiac 400 engine sits in its place estimated at 375HP. A rebuilt 800 CFM 1973 Q Jet carb. feeds the engine. The block was bored 30 over and new internals were added, see receipt. The heads and intake were ported and matched to the block. A newer HEI distributor with new wires and plugs was installed. Correct wire looms and guides house the new wires and look great. A performance clutch was installed and shifts well. Long tube headers with Pypes mufflers make this true dual exhaust system sound awesome with a true muscle car sound. New fuel pump and fuel lines were installed. A newer Champion aluminum radiator was installed and keeps this bird cool even on the hottest days. Several suspension parts were replaced including new shocks and new end links. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is an excellent driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should but grab late. Clutch was upgraded to a heavy duty clutch and is a little stiffer than normal. Also, the engine is very clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.
