Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this very nice 1987 El Camino SS Choo Choo edition which is in fantastic stock condition and priced to sell. This SS El Camino is 1 of approximately 2200 Choo Choo El Camino’s which were converted in Tennessee from 1983-1987. The original correct conversion Choo Choo decal is still located in the drivers door jamb. This El Camino features a nice re paint in factory black paint, an original interior, and the original numbers matching complete drive line, see engine vin stamp photo. This El Camino is very solid and has no visible rust anywhere around the truck and is very solid with great lines and gaps. This El Camino is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Black over Grey Cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the rpo label. It believed that this El Camino has only had two owners since new and the included car fax is clean with no issues.
Exterior
The Black exterior is in very nice stock condition. This El Camino was repainted in factory black some years ago with original sheet metal with no known body work performed. The paint is in good overall condition for its age and there are no signs of visible rust anywhere around the truck. The front nose was recently painted due to fading and blends in nicely with the rest of the truck. This El Camino is one of the 2200 which were converted into Choo Choo special editions. Unique Choo Choo front bumper, trim, and decals were added as part of the package. Both bumpers are in good overall condition. The rear bumper does show some wear and a small dent. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires were replaced a few years ago and have nearly full tread left and are sized 215/70/14 and drive just fine. The wheels are OEM originals and are in great overall shape and have no curb rash. Brand new wheel center caps were just added. The rear cargo compartment and spare tire storage area are both solid and clean and the original spare tire is still in place. The rear tail gate works properly and a tow package was added many years ago.
Interior
The Grey Cloth interior of this El Camino is mostly original and in great overall condition. The seat covers are factory originals and in good overall condition with no major wear, stains, or seam splits. The carpet is original and looks great with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the gauges are crisp and clear. The original digital AM/FM cassette stereo works great in this El Camino and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The power antenna comes on properly and works well and goes up and down easily. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in like new condition and was recently replaced. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The horn, stereo, wipers, power windows, power door locks, power antenna, and blower motor on all speeds all work. This El Camino has factory air conditioning and all components remain in place but currently the system does not blow cold air. The heater works properly. The shifter indicator is not working properly.
Mechanical
This El Camino is in excellent mechanical condition and the original drive line is still in this truck. A new battery was recently installed. The original 305 engine runs strong and the rear end features posi traction. This El Camino is really quick and will leave two tire patches of rubber if tested. Its pretty fast for a 305 powered original El Camino. We have driven this El Camino several times and it drives very nicely, it does not run hot, rides very tight, and is a true joy to drive. There are no rattles or annoying noises. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay is very unmolested and is very factory correct and a lot of the lines, hoses, and wires are factory original. The exhaust was just replaced and a performance Flowmaster muffler was added. This El Camino has a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. New air shocks were just added and work great as the original factory air shocks were worn out and not holding air any longer. This El Camino has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and the overall condition of the truck and the way it runs and drives validates that. The outstanding originality of this El Camino and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special El Camino. A trailer hitch was installed early in this trucks life and appears to remain functional.
