Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this Amazing Survivor 1979 Trans Am which is in stunning original condition with low actual miles of 15,826. This special TA has had only one owner from 8/2/1979 when it was purchased with 5 Actual Miles. The last year this TA was registered was in 1985, see windshield sticker. Although the car has not been registered since 1985 it has been exercised regularly and driven around the block and started on a regular basis. This TA was stored in a garage under numerous blankets and covers. This Trans Am features incredible original Starlight Black paint with original decals and moldings, a mint black deluxe cloth original interior, and the original numbers matching 403 engine, see vin stamp photo. This Trans Am is absolutely solid and has no visible rust anywhere around the car or under the car, and is very solid with great lines and gaps. This TA was Ziebarted when new which has really helped in preserving this TA. The underside is in beautiful original condition with no rust anywhere or any rust repairs or corrosion issues. There has been no touch ups or spray bombing with cheap spray paint, just the installed rust proofing when new. Its believed that this TA has never had any body work done and is all original sheet metal with all original paint. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Starlight Black (code 19) over Black deluxe cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above. The low mileage is not only validated by the amazing original condition of this TA but also by the Ohio title pictured below stating the mileage as “Actual.”

Exterior

The Black exterior is in excellent overall unrestored original condition. This Trans Am has never had any body work done or paint work done. The paint is in superior condition and looks fantastic for its age. There are no crazed areas or areas with cracked paint and absolutely no bubbling paint or rust issues. Both bumpers are in great shape. Silver pin stripping was added when the car was new and is vinyl decals not painted on. The paint has a superior gloss, excellent shine and is smooth to the touch. The decals are original and look like new. There is zero rust on this TA and zero rust concerns on the body or underside of this TA. See photo of Ziebart decal on inside of door and notice the yellow rust proofing plugs around the car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have good tread on them and are correctly sized 225/70/15. The Rally II wheels are OEM originals and are in great shape with no curb rash with original trim rings and center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping is in great shape including the window sweeps. The trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire, jack and tools, inflator bottle, and original trunk mat. It is factory original. The underside is as true and honest as the rest of the car and very solid and very rust free. A factory paper tag is still located on the passenger rear brake drum, see photo.

Interior

The Black deluxe cloth interior of this Trans Am is original and in mint excellent condition. The seat covers are factory originals and in near perfect shape for their age and have no major wear or stains. In 1979 large towels were placed over the seat covers and the seats were never exposed or sat on, see photos. The carpet is original with no major stains, rips, or holes and is in like new condition. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. The Stereo has been upgraded to a AM/FM cassette player which works and sounds good with upgraded Clarion speakers. The original door panels are in near perfect condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in excellent condition and not sagging at all and the original package tray is in excellent condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the clock and cigarette lighter. The stereo, wipers, clock, cigarette lighter, turn signal indicators, horn, and blower motor on all speeds work. The TA has never been smoked in and the ashtray looks brand new.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition with only 15,826 actual miles on the original 403 engine. This TA was last registered for regular use in 1985. This TA has only had one real owner from 1979 until 8/2019 and the owner regularly exercised this TA and drove it around the block regularly. The exhaust is original and shows its age but is still in tact and works. The tires are not flat spotted and drive well. We have driven this TA a few times on the streets and highways and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rides very tight, and is a true joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs very well. This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and very unmolested and factory stock. Several hoses and clamps are factory originals with factory markings. Brake booster and MC both have remnants of the factory original paper tags. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay area and offers better performance. This TA has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owner which is easily noticed in the photos and videos. The outstanding originality of this TA and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special TA.
