Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1978 Firebird which is in nice overall original condition inside and out with only 68,845 actual miles. There are no known production numbers for a 1978 Factory 4 speed Firebird with a factory 305 chevy engine but this is believed to be a very rare car and personally the only one built this way that I have seen. This Firebird features a repaint in correct silver paint, an original carmine standard interior, the original numbers matching 305 engine(see photo below of vin stamp on engine), and a ton of original documentation such as: original sales contract and vehicle inspection, build sheet, manual, warranty papers, etc. This Firebird is finished in the beautiful and desirable factory colors of Silver(code 15) over Carmine standard vinyl (code 75R) interior. This is the factory color scheme as indicated on the trim tag pictured below as well as the included build sheet, which was found behind the rear seat.

Exterior

The exterior is in ok driver condition. This Firebird has been repainted years ago and still has a pretty good shine. The paint is in good overall condition but there are signs of rust repair around the car and some bubbles showing through. There is rust in some of the typical areas around the car that these F bodies are prone to such as the floors, dash, and around the trunk. Rest of the car is pretty solid. Both bumpers are in good shape but do show some wear and the front bumper has a blemish in the middle. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have good tread left but are older, they are sized 215/70/15 and the hub cabs are in good shape with no curb rash. Trunk has a full size spare tire and correct trunk mat. All the glass is “LOF” factory original.

Interior

The Carmine standard vinyl interior of this Firebird is in terrific original condition. The original seat covers are in excellent condition with no rips, stains, or excessive wear. The carpet is in good shape with no major stains, rips, or holes. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The Firebird has a unique Medallion 40 Channel CB 8 track player that actually works and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern cd player. The door panels are original and in good condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is like new and in excellent condition. The package tray is in good condition. The interior/exterior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock and dome light. The horn and stereo also work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Firebird is in good mechanical condition and very importantly the original numbers matching engine is still in the car with only 68,845 actual miles . In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Firebird is an nice driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. The exhaust looks factory correct and the catalytic converter is still in place. This car is a blast to drive with the 4 speed transmission. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos and very factory correct and unmolested. This is a factory AC car and all the AC components appear to still be on the car but the AC seems to need a charge to work properly.
