Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1978 Pontiac Trans Am which is in restored condition and comes with a built 455 Pontiac engine. This Trans Am features a very nice repaint in factory Mayan Red, a beautiful Carmine Red deluxe cloth restored interior, restored Rally II wheels with newer tires, and a strong running rebuilt Pontiac 455 engine. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Mayan Red over Carmine Red deluxe cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as seen on the trim tag pictured above.

Exterior

The Mayan Red exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint in Mayan Red with all new decals which are in new condition and were just installed in 3/2019. The paint is in great condition and has a high gloss and smooth touch, with a beautiful shine. There is no bubbling paint anywhere on the body and the gaps and lines are very good around the car. Both bumpers are in good shape with no flaking or faded paint and the nose crest emblem was just changed. There are some touch ups to the front lower bumper bumper. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are like new with less than 5000 miles on them and sized 235/60/15 and the OEM Rally II wheels are fully restored with original trim rings. All weather stripping and window sweeps are newer and in great condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original style trunk mat. The underside is solid on this TA with a repair panel in the passenger front floor area.

Interior

The Carmine Red deluxe cloth interior of this Trans Am has been nicely restored to stock. The seat covers have been restored and are in great condition with no major wear or rips or seam splits. The carpet is like new as well with no stains, rips, or holes and was replaced. The dash pad is in good condition and the dash bezel is in good condition as well. The door panels are newer and in excellent condition and the arm rests are newer as well and in tact and work as they should. The headliner and package tray have also been replaced and both are in like new condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The horn, wipers, stereo, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition and the 455 Pontiac engine runs very well. The Pontiac 455 engine was rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago, see included receipts and cam card. This TA has much more performance than its stock counterparts and pulls strong and runs strong. It will shred the tires if desired when sitting still or when moving. At the same time it is very street able and easy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is a good driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time and runs strong. The brakes do not pull while driving and stop well. True Flowmaster style dual exhaust just added with brand new headers and gaskets and gives this TA an amazing rumble at idle and cruising speeds and new splitter tips were just installed. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. From the underside photos you can see just how clean and fresh the rebuilt 455 engine is with the marking still on the engine and how clean the plugs are. This is a factory non AC which really unclutters the engine bay and improves performance and lessens weight. This is a fun TA to have and gets a lot of looks while driving and will blow by any stock second generation TA on the road.
