This 1980 MG MGB Limited Edition shows just 25k actual miles and is powered by a Weber Sidedraft-carbureted 1.8L inline-four paired to a four-speed manual gearbox with added overdrive. 25K “Actual” miles are documented by over 40 receipts dating back to 1983 with owners information, dates, and mileage accounts, also copies of two car titles stating the mileage as “Actual.” Production of the North American LE occurred between 1978-1980 and resulted in a reported 6,668 examples. All of them left the factory finished in black over a matching interior and equipped with a set of GKN alloys, front air dam, and a set of silver side stripes. The previous owner is believed to be the fourth registered owner and has invested over $9k in mechanical service within his ownership of 16 years, with 3K in the few years. This MGB is now being offered with records from recent service to when the car was new(over 40 receipts totaling over $16,500), the original top boot, original tonneau cover, and a clear Ohio title in the seller’s name. This MGB has spent its entire life in the Lexington Kentucky area. For over 35 years this car has been serviced by the same tech at the same shop Mike’s Import and Domestic Auto repair by all four owners, with over 30 service records provided as proof.

The black exterior was refinished around 7 years ago with a show quality finish, at which point the trim shows to have been renewed and new Limited Edition graphics were applied. The prior owner was an absolute perfectionist and due to the hood having a bit of paint fade decided to have the entire car resprayed professionally. Also the front spoiler was replaced due to a very small blemish.

The soft top in is like new condition and works perfectly, and pictures of the included tonneau and boot covers can be seen in the gallery below.

Inside, LE-specific features include a leather three-spoke steering wheel with a special center hub, a dash plaque installed on the glove box, and the original black Coco floor mats. A upgraded Kenwood stereo and Clarion speakers have been added. 25k miles are shown on the odometer, which is believed to be accurate and documented by over 35 years of service records at the same repair shop.

Within the past 16 years over $9k has been spent on machine work and mechanical servicing at Mike’s Import Auto Repair in Lexington Kentucky. Work included replacing the rear crank seal, new thermostat and water pump, new fuel pump, new ANSA exhaust, new wheels and Michelin tires sized 185/70/14 including the spare, brake service with new hoses, new chrome valve cover, new motor and transmission mounts, new jet coated header, added oil cooling unit, Weber Engine Conversion, Added Overdrive, and much more. Images of the trunk interior can also be found in the gallery, and a full new exhaust has been installed. New Moss Motors seat covers have been fitted as well due to a small blemish in the original drivers seat. The last owner kept the car for over 16 years in a climate controlled home garage.
