This 1980 Triumph TR8 has been a Pennsylvania car for most of its existence with low miles of 34,966. The miles showed as Actual on the previous PA title and show as actual on my new current Ohio title. Power comes from a 3.5-liter Rover V8 which is in mostly stock trim and paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This TR8 was professionally painted in 2020 and has only been driven a handful of miles since. This TR8 is offered with service records, dealer books, the original top cover and jack, and a clean Ohio tile in selling dealers name.
The previous owner commissioned a repaint in Silver in 2020 with new decals applied and the paint is in very nice overall condition. New weatherstripping and body gaskets were installed following the paintwork, and the black bumpers were recoated. The paint has a smooth finish and nice gloss and has a great shine. The body and gaps and lines are excellent on this TR8.
The original convertible top is in great condition as is the original top cover. Factory alloy wheels measure 13″×5.5″ wear a newer set of tires which are less than 3 years old with full tread left. Brake updates include front calipers, new pads, and shoes.
The interior hosts Blue Check cloth and vinyl upholstery which is in excellent overall condition. Door panels, knee bolsters, kick panels, carpets, and other trim are all in excellent shape and show very well. All plastics are in great shape with no cracks or fading.
A modern Retrosound stereo has been fitted in place of the factory radio. The 5-digit odometer shows 34,966 miles which are believed to be original. The factory air conditioning system remains in tact and was serviced some years ago but the system would benefit from a recharge.
The aluminum 3.5-liter Rover V8 runs very well and appears to be in mostly stock configuration and shows only 34,966 Actual miles. This TR8 has been nicely maintained over the years and comes with numerous service records and receipts. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox which shifts in and out of gear nicely. The underside of this TR8 is in superb overall condition and shows no signs of rust or previous rust repairs. There is no bubbling paint or paint cracks anywhere on the body of this car. This TR8 is very rust free and shows no rust issues anywhere right now or any signs of previous repairs.
