Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Pontiac Trans Am which is nicely sorted and priced to sell. This TA started life as a 1979 Heritage Brown over Camel deluxe hobnail cloth interior with a Pontiac 301 engine and automatic transmission. This Trans Am features upgraded WS6 suspension with 4 wheel disk brakes, Factory T-Tops, a fully rebuilt drive line, and a completely restored interior. This is not a TA for the purist but is a very fun car to drive and own.

Exterior

The Heritage Brown exterior is in nice overall condition. The paint is old and shows its age in spots but still looks fairly nice overall. It looks as good in person as it appears in the photos and videos below. There is no evidence of rust anywhere on this car or underneath. The body shows no rust at all and no bubbling paint or cracked bondo and that is saying a lot for an older paint job. The original floor pans are rust free. The frame is very solid and rust free as well. The underside is very honest and in excellent shape. The bumpers are good overall condition but they have not been restored and show a few blemishes here and there. The tires are brand new and have full tread left and are sized 245/60/15 and the 15×8 Snowflake wheels are restored originals. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in like new condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with a new trunk mat, and spare tire.

Interior

This TA has been fully converted over to Black Deluxe Interior from Camel Tan. Hobnail Black seat covers were installed that still look good. New black carpet was added. Brand new Black Deluxe door panels we added with new door pulls, door lock knobs, and door cups. New black headliner was added. A new black dash cap was installed after the entire dash was removed. The dash cap fits excellent. A restored gold dash bezel was installed ans well as a new steering wheel. All plastics were converted to black as well as a new package tray. A modern stereo was added with new speakers with a power amp and sub in trunk. The console has been wrapped with black vinyl. The gauges are very crisp and clear and all work properly. The interior lights all work and are bright and crisp. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn, wipers, gauges, heater, power windows and stereo all work.

Mechanical

This TA is in exceptional mechanical condition. The original 301 engine is long gone and nicely built Chevy 350 sits in its place with approximately 350HP. We have driven this TA numerous times around town and on the highway and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. Previous owners of this TA have kept meticulous care of this car and there is a full of receipts. The majority of the included receipts are for mechanical upgrades around the car such as: new brakes, new carb, new HEI distributor, new wires and plugs, new intake, new cylinder heads, new fuel pump, new alt. new brakes, new fuel and new brake lines, new heater motor, new water pump, etc, etc. etc. A tremendous amount of work was performed under the car upgrading the suspension and drive ability of the car. Polyurethane bushings were recently installed throughout the undercarriage and new springs and shocks were installed as well. See photos below highlighting recent work performed on suspension. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs very well. This TA is an excellent driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The 4 wheel disk brakes were recently serviced and do not pull and stop as they should. This TA has brand new dual exhaust with Doug headers and a Flowmaster muffler and sounds great at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is meticulously clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The AC was removed and an AC delete box was installed in its place. The heater does work in the car.
