Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this Survivor 1979 Trans Am Special Edition which is in original overall condition with low actual miles of 14,603. This special TA has been owned by just one family since new. The grandfather purchased the car new then willed it to his grandson who took possession in 2020. I got the car from the grandson in 12/2024. This TA has been used sparingly over the years and just for pleasure driving but has been exercised regularly and driven around the block and started on a regular basis. The build sheet was found in this Trans Am behind the rear seat back. This Trans Am features believed to be mostly original Black paint with original decals and moldings and Special Edition gold stripping, a very nice mostly original Hobnail Cloth interior, the original numbers matching 403 engine, numerous factory ordered options, and the factory build sheet. This Trans Am is solid and has no visible rust anywhere around the car or under the car, and is solid with good lines and gaps. The underside is in solid original condition with no rust anywhere or any rust repairs or corrosion issues. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Black with SE stripping over Black deluxe hobnail cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and build sheet pictured above. The low mileage is not only validated by the amazing original condition of this TA but also by the Ohio title pictured below stating the mileage as “Actual.” The previous title shows the miles as Actual as well. This TA was rust proofed when new and has kept this TA rust free over the years. See sticker on windshield.

Exterior

The Black exterior is in good overall unrestored original condition. This Trans Am is believed to never had any body work done or paint work done. The paint is in good overall condition and shows pretty well for its age. Both bumpers are in good shape. There is no visible rust on this TA and no known rust concerns on the body or underside of this TA. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires are brand new and were just installed on 12/19/2024 and have less than 5 miles on them. The 15×7 snowflake wheels are OEM originals and are in great shape with no curb rash with original center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping is in great shape including the window sweeps. The trunk is very solid and clean with the original trunk mat, space saver spare tire and jack and tools. The original speaker insulation box is still in place on only the driver side speaker which is factory correct. This TA was rust proofed when new and really helped keep this TA rust free over the years.

Interior

The Black deluxe cloth interior of this Trans Am is original and in great condition. The seat covers are factory originals and in great shape for their age and have no major wear or stains. The carpet is in great shape with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The Stereo has been upgraded to a modern digital AM/FM mp3 player which works and sounds great. Thankfully the dash was not cut for the stereo install. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in excellent condition and not sagging and the original package tray is in excellent condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the clock and power antenna. The stereo, wipers, clock, power windows, horn, turn signal indicators, and blower motor all work. The factory AC system is still in tact and shows as complete.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in good mechanical condition with only 14,603 believed to be actual miles on the original 403 engine. This TA was recently serviced in preparation for this sale. A complete overhaul of the brakes was just completed. A new brake booster and master cylinder and prop valve were added. New brake lines, hoses, pads, drums, wheel cylinders, and calipers were added. New tires were just installed. This TA has only had one family since new with staying with the original owner until 2020 when the grandson inherited the car. The exhaust is in stock configuration and still retains the factory cat. converter. We have driven this TA a few times on the streets and highways and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is a good driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were fully serviced recently. Also, the engine is clean and very unmolested and factory stock. This TA has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owner which is easily noticed in the photos and videos. The outstanding originality of this TA and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special TA.
