Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this survivor 1978 Formula which is in fantastic original condition with low actual miles of 63,100. This Formula is believed to have had only 2 owners with the original owner having possession for 36 years. This Formula was sold new in Milford Ohio and never left the area and is now available for sale in Milford Ohio just across the street from where is was sold new. This Formula features believed to be original paint with original decals, a stunningly beautiful white/black deluxe vinyl all original interior, a new 350 Chevy crate engine with less than 1000 miles, and the original factory build sheet. This Formula is very unique with the Platinum Silver exterior with custom ordered white/black interior. This Formula is absolutely solid and has no visible rust anywhere around the car or under the car, and is very solid with great lines and gaps. Its believed that this Formula has never had any body work done and is all original sheet metal. This Formula is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Platinum Silver (code 15) over White/Black Deluxe vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and build sheet pictured below. I removed the rear seat during detailing and found a perfect original build sheet tucked behind the rear seat springs. There is also a build sheet under the drivers seat but I left it alone. These were placed in the car nearly 40 years ago on the assembly line. Another great sign of originality and authenticates this Formula for what it was then and what it still is today. The low mileage is not only validated by the amazing original condition of this Formula but also by the Ohio title pictured below stating the mileage as “Actual.”

Exterior

The Platinum Silver exterior is in very nice overall original condition. This Formula is believed to never have had any paintwork done and still hosts its original sheet metal and original factory graphics. The paint is in excellent overall condition for its age and there are no signs of visible rust and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking paint. The decals are in good shape for being nearly 40 years old and still look great on the car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are newer and have nearly full tread left on them and are sized 245/60/15. The 15×7 Rally Wheels are OEM originals and are in excellent shape with no curb rash and have never been restored or painted. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in excellent condition. The trunk is factory perfect and very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire, jack, with the original trunk mat. The underside of this Formula is honest and extremely solid and rust free. It has not been touched up with cheap spray paint or undercoating. All glass is factory original “LOF” glass.

Interior

The White/Black vinyl deluxe interior of this Formula is original and in excellent condition. The seat covers are factory originals and in near perfect condition for their age and have no major wear, stains, or seam splits. The carpet is original and looks nearly perfect with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. The original AM/FM Stereo 8 Track player works great in this Formula and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in excellent condition and the original package tray is in like new condition. A working tach was added to monitor the engine rpm’s. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter, the clock is not working. The horn, external tach, stereo, wipers, rear defrost, and blower motor on all speeds all work.

Mechanical

This Formula is in exceptional mechanical condition with only 63,100 actual miles. This Formula runs and drives as good or better than any other F Body car I have even driven and I have been in thousands of them. It is very tight and its obvious the car has never been apart. This Formula came from the factory with a Chevy 305 engine and has been upgraded to a newer Chevy 350 crate engine with less than 1000 miles on it. All hoses, belts, clamps, and fluids, have also been replaced. We have driven this Formula numerous times around town and it drives wonderfully, it does not run hot, rides very tight, and is a true joy to drive. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are newer and do not pull and stop as they should with several brake lines and hoses recently replaced. A new rear complete axle was installed with 3.42 gears and Posi traction which came out of a Camaro Z28.
Brand new Pypes dual exhaust was recently installed and sounds amazing on the car at idle and cruising speeds, see included receipt. New shocks were also installed. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay is very unmolested and is very factory correct and a lot of the lines and wires are factory original. This is a factory AC car and all factory components are still on the car but the system appears to need a charge to blow cold. The Freon was lost during the engine swap and the system has not been recharged, it did blow cold prior to swap. This Formula has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and the amazing overall original condition of this Formula is a testament to that. The outstanding originality of this Formula and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special car.
