This Formula is 1 of only 810 ever produced with a Factory 400 Pontiac engine and a manual 4 speed transmission. The W72 high performance engine coupled with the manual 4 speed transmission is the ultimate Formula to own and demands top billing in the market place. With very low production numbers and in a rarely seen beautiful Factory color of Carmine Red make this bird all the more special. This Formula was sold new in Amelia Ohio which is only 10 miles away from where the car is now up for sale. This Formula features a super nice repaint in Factory Carmine Red, a stunningly beautiful black vinyl mostly original interior, the numbers matching 400 Pontiac engine and numbers matching 4 speed transmission, and most of the original dealer documents and PHS documents. This Formula is very solid and has great lines and gaps. This Formula is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Carmine Red (code 77) over Black vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and PHS documents pictured below. This Formula comes with a 3 ring binder book full of original documents, original owner history, several past titles and bill of sales, and PHS documents and window sticker which authenticates this Formula for what it was then and what it still is today.

Exterior

The Carmine Red exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Formula was treated to a professional repaint within the last few years and looks and shows very well. The paint is in great overall condition with a smooth surface and shiny gloss which looks fantastic in the sun. Both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking paint. The decals are in excellent shape and look great on the car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are newer and have nearly full tread left on them and are correctly sized 225/70/15. The 15×7 Rally Wheels are OEM originals and are in excellent shape with no curb rash. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in good condition. The trunk is solid and very clean with the original space saver spare tire, inflator bottle, and the original trunk mat. The underside of this Formula is honest and extremely solid and rust free. All glass is factory original “LOF” glass.

Interior

The Black vinyl interior of this Formula is mostly original and in excellent condition. The seat covers are factory originals and in near perfect condition for their age and have no major wear, stains, or seam splits. The carpet is original and great condition with no major stains, rips, or holes(there are two smaller wear areas under the drivers mat where your feet rub). The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. The stereo has been upgraded to a modern Alpine CD Mp3 player that looks and sounds great in the car, it also has USB hook ups. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in excellent condition and the package tray is in like new condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter, the clock is not working. The horn, tach, stereo, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds all work.

Mechanical

This Formula is in exceptional mechanical condition and most importantly still has its numbers matching engine and transmission, see vin stamps of both above. This Formula has gone on three road trips in the last few months and performed extremely well during each. First trip was around 3 hours, second was 4 hours, and the 3rd trip was just last week at 6 hours to the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton Ohio. This Formula runs and drives as good or better than any other F Body car I have even driven and I have been in thousands of them. It is very tight, drives strait down the road, and does not run hot. In the video one can observe the car running and driving with no excessive rattles or odd noises. Unfortunately the camera does make some squeaking noises when moved around especially when shifting the car. You can hear the same noise in the walk around video as well. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are newer and do not pull and stop as they should. This Formula has had a lot of recent suspension work performed including new rear leaf spring, front springs, 4 new shocks, new front sway bar, new sway bar mounts front and rear, new end links, and new ball joints. This Formula has true dual exhaust and has a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC car and all factory components are still on the car and the car currently blows cold air. The AC was used during the recent road trips and works as it should. This Formula has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and the amazing overall condition of this Formula is a testament to that. The outstanding originality of this Formula and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special car. This Formula is truly the one to have being a low production car with the highest performance drive line available.
