This 1965 Ford Mustang fastback is finished in candy apple red over red and powered by a rebuilt 289ci V8 paired with a rebuilt automatic transmission. Features include a Edlebrock four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, power steering, new rack and pinion steering, new suspension, a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, aluminum cylinder heads, Aluminum radiator, and a Retrosound digital stereo. The car was owned by one owner from the late 80’s until the summer of 2021. In the summer of 2021 the new owner added power steering and front wheel power disk brakes. Also, he added rack and pinion steering and upgraded the suspension with new rear leaf springs, new shocks, new upper and lower control arms, and new ball joints and bushings. The engine and transmission were rebuilt about 1000 miles ago and the engine pulls well and transmission shifts properly. This Mustang is offered in Ohio with a clean Ohio title in seller’s name. Previous owner only sold me this fine 65 Fastback due to buying a 1970 Pro Touring Mach 1 shortly after his purchase of this Fastback. He was only keeping one and selected the Grabber Blue Mach 1 seen in photographs on this listing.
The car is finished in candy apple red and was painted over 25 years ago and is still in show ready condition. Features include a fender-mounted antenna, 289 badging, bright metal rocker trim, rear quarter louvers, chrome bumpers, and a dual-outlet exhaust system that exits below the rear valance.
The 17″ Torque thrust wheels are mounted with 245/40 tires. The car is equipped with power steering, upgraded suspension, and rack and pinion steering. Braking is handled by upgraded power front disk brakes with rear drums.
The cabin features front buckets and a rear bench upholstered in red and white vinyl joined by a black dashboard, black door panels, and new red carpets. Equipment includes a center console, new lap belts, crank windows, and an upgraded retrosound stereo.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames the stock speedometer, and stock gauges. An aftermarket oil pressure and coolant temperature gauge were added.
