Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this Factory 3 Speed Manual Transmission 1972 AMC Javelin SST which is in beautiful original stock condition and priced to sell. This factory Javelin is completely numbers matching, meaning the original engine and the original 3 speed manual transmission is still in the car with matching and is mostly stock original. This Javelin has only been driven 3000 miles in the last 14 years and has spent most of its time in climate controlled storage with around 15 other cars all owned by one person. The low miles are “Actual” on this Javelin at 62,213 as seen on the Ohio title pictured above. I was only able to obtain this Javelin due to the owner selling his collection due to declining health. This Javelin features a very nice repaint in factory Blue which still shows well overall, a fully original SST interior, and an excellent running 304 engine and 3 speed manual transmission, which are both original to the car. This Javelin is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Factory Admiral Blue (code C5) over Blue corduroy cloth (code 63R) interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above.

Exterior

The Blue exterior is in very nice overall condition. This Javelin was treated to a professional repaint in factory Blue around 15 years ago and still shows well today. The paint is in good overall condition with a great shine and gloss and is smooth to the touch. This Javelin is completely solid and shows no signs of visible rust or rust repair anywhere on car or under car. There is no evidence of metal repair on the body or on the underside of this Javelin, or any heavy body filler areas. Its super solid with no bubbling paint or cracked paint. Both bumpers are in great shape and have a nice shine. All the trim, bright work, and emblems are original to the car and all in very good condition. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have nearly full tread left and less than 3000 miles driven on them and are sized 215/60/14 and the Factory wheels are OEM originals and are in good overall shape. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original style trunk mat. Door seals, window seals, and trunk seal are all in good condition. All the glass is factory original and in great shape.

Interior

The Blue cloth interior of this Javelin is in very good original condition. The seat covers are in good overall condition with minor wear throughout but the drivers seat does have some extra wear on the upper bolster area. These are original cloth seat covers not some aftermarket replacements and all seat covers still show well in the car. The carpet is original and is in good over all condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in terrific condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. The original AM 8 track stereo is still in this Javelin and plays well and sounds good. The original door panels are in great overall condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The original package tray is still in this Javelin and holding up well. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock and even the cigarette lighter is still working which is rare. Dome light is not working and the e brake needs adjusting to work properly. Two factory assembly line sheets were found in both the rear top seat and rear lower seat see photos of sheets in the gallery. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Javelin is in excellent mechanical condition and runs and drives very well. This is an “Actual” low mileage car with only 62,213 miles on the odometer with only 3000 miles added in the last 14 years. Most importantly the original engine and 3 speed manual transmission are still in the car. The valve cover tag and vin both validate the original drive line of this Javelin. The transmission shifts very smoothly and does not pop out of gear and the clutch feels great. The factory 304 V8 pulls strongly and this car has a lot of power for what it is and comes with twin grip limited slip differential. Aftermarket side pipe exhaust was added many years ago and sounds great on the car and looks at home on this Javelin. A new battery was just installed. A complete brake overhaul was just completed including a new brake booster, new master cylinder, new brake lines, new calipers, new pads and hoses, and rear brake service and complete bleeding of system. I would rate the brakes as perfect and like new. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Javelin is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. This car is a blast to drive with the 3 speed manual transmission on a nice sunny day. These cars are rarely seen on the road especially with the manual transmission option and in mostly original condition with low miles. Also, the engine bay is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay.
